Keeping the expectations low.

NaBloPoMo Day #1

Okay, okay. I’m in for NaBloPoMo 2017, and once again, facing the keyboard, I’m awash in all the things I want to write about, and have not found the time to make it happen. So, here’s a list, to get me started.

1) Evacuation from the October firestorms here in Santa Rosa
2) Subsequent glamping with relatives and their pets over the next 8 days
3) Bright Line Eating update
4) Halloween
5) My son’s 17th birthday
6) My daughter’s 18th birthday
7) Going to see Hamilton
8) The 8th Grade Washington DC trip – will probably be multiple posts because that was one heck of an extended trip
9) Thanksgiving anticipation, in light of no sugar and no flour for me
10) Christmas and holiday planning
11) Update on my assorted work projects
12) Our surprise remodel of our rental house’s master bathroom due to a burst pipe in the wall (just in time for the holidays, and property taxes!)
13) Update on teaching my two oldest to drive
14) My not-so-serene attempts to practice daily meditation
15) Birthday plans for my youngest’s 15th birthday
16) Whining about being sick/tired/cold – this is inevitable at some point during the month.
17) Let me tell you about my three cats and what all they’ve put us through lately.
18) Where should we go to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary next year?
19) College update (spoiler alert – two at SRJC next year, and I’m delighted.)
20) Pre-New Year’s resolution planning and strategy, with an acceptable scale for failure
21) Online classes I have paid for but haven’t completed
22) Knit that stash (or a self-imposed prohibition on buying more yarn until I complete some of the many projects I’ve started.)
23) My new foundation because I finally found one that works for my aging skin
24) Let’s talk about the weird hair situation I have going on
25) Actual Thanksgiving recap
26) #GivingTuesday event for Kids & Art in San Francisco
27) No one prepared me for all of the memes when talking about parenting teenagers
28) I basically had a “get off my lawn” conversation with younger colleagues about parenting “in my day” – embracing my inner cranky old broad at 45.
29) Update on some of my other online projects that are percolating on the back burner right now
30) Movie reactions to some of the films coming out that I’m sure we’ll see.

Here we go, November. Here we go.
