Neither here nor there

Day five of my university hiatus finds me acknowledging the fact that I am indeed the queen of lazy. That being said, I am happy to report that I have managed to sandwich some productivity in between my sloth and gluttony. Oh, and as a sidenote, my deadly sin is actually:

*Left my biannual visit to the dentist with what he called a gorgeous check up.

*Courtesy of Jay ,I was turned on to a very special cause and I'm ecstatically giving where I can. Believe me, my contribution has not gone unnoticed as I had, uh, ahem, a little help with this one.

*Don't you just hate it when you are in the shower, all shampooed up when you reach for a towel to wipe your eyes and realize you forgot to grab the damn towel before you stepped into the shower? Son of a...

*I kept my appointment with my advisor and we hammered out my schedule for the upcoming fall semester. Spanish (egads...time to start watching more Dora), Living Ecologically (well, cuz I want to), Literature for Adolescents, The American Novel to Early 20th Century, and Fiction Writing. Oh, and speaking of school, I just received my final grades for the spring semester and, yes, I totally rock.

ART-225B-001 HISTORY OF WORLD ART: MANNERISM TO THE PRESENT B
ENG-209-001 SURVEY OF BRITISH LIT: 1789-PRESENT A
ENG-212-001 SURVEY OF AMERICAN LIT: CIVIL WAR TO MODRN TIMES B
GEOG-202-001 RESOURCE USE AND MANAGEMENT B

Please note that B in American Lit...wanna know why I got a B rather than an A? As I said before, I am a lazy ass.

Hi, Professor H,

So, what's the worst thing that will happen if I don't deliver the final writing assignment to you? Without the paper, could I still squeeze by with a B?

Finals week coupled with personal issues has contributed to my lack of organization. I have let time escape me and if I were to turn in a paper at this point, well, it would be an embarrassing effort.

As much as I'm sure you were looking forward to an intriguing and fascinating essay, I can imagine having one less to read would hardly cause you to lose any sleep.

Please let me know me you can (or can't) in good conscious award a B.
....................................

Peace LuAnn,

How's it going?

Hmmm...ok, with no paper, you could squeeze by with a B. But come on, the reason you could do that is because you've done so much A-level work this semester. And so, your B will look strange in relation to your other A's (the first paper, the mid-term, and class participation). One more paper wouldn't be that hard would it? Granted, I'm not sure what situation you're dealing with over there, so.....

An addition possibility is this then: Your grade now (without the paper) will go down as a B. If you get time in the next few weeks to do the paper, I can see if it's possible to apply for a grade change (from B to A) when you do the paper. It's only three pages, know.

Let me know what you think.

Do take care.

Professor H.

I know, I know. Bad, lu, bad. Not only am I bad, but my snark can sometimes be worse than my bite. "An addition possibility is this then" and "It's only three pages, know." HUH? Uh, dude, you are an ENGLISH professor.

*Oh, I treated myself to a very nice facial.....not that kind of facial, you fuhreaks!! God, I can't take you people anywhere. Anyway, it was fabulous. Some absolutely gorgeous woman spent close to an hour exfoliating, steaming, moisturizing, and massaging not only my face but my shoulders and decollate. Ahhh, it was heavenly and I left there positively glowing. You know, now that I think about it, that is pretty much the way I feel after receiving the other kind of facial too. Hmmm...and I don't have to fork out $50 for that one...well, at least not most of the time.

*The rest of my siesta (yeah, I'm already practicing for the Spanish class) has been spent counting down the days (TWO MORE WEEKS!!) til......

Lust! That's not right! I'm trying to figure out what you're majoring in- English? Certainly an eclectic choice of classes. Reading your post didn't exactly motivate me to study for the GRE which was the plan for this afternoon. I have to RE-TAKE it; they won't accept 30 year old scores which were perfectly good and now the math score is running about 8% on the practice test...Maybe I don't want to do grad school all over again. Enjoy your break- and thanks for coming and leaving nice comments- I appreciate it. (He is beautiful, isn't he? :-)

Talk about needing a towel and not having one available at the right time! That's how I felt while reading this post! ;)

Congrats on the grades! Stick with the 'B' because I'd much rather read about you using your time celebrating this month's theme than typing a stupid paper!

ooooh, I have a facial, manicure and pedicure package that I got for my birthday. I am going to book it for next week. The salon is amazing. Hotties galore.

Now get to work missy! ;-P

I'm glad you did well this semester. Spanish in the fall will be a breeze-- trust me, I went through four years in HS and then a year's worth in college. Easiest language to learn. Stay far away from Latin, though. :)

And continue enjoying your hiatus-- you earned it!
