You Kinda Have To Hop

It is tough to walk with your foot in your mouth.

I find myself hopping around, size 6 1/2 wedged firmly in my big ole mouth after a phone conversation I had with a friend.

Her marriage is struggling right now, and with my infinite lack of wisdom, I blurted out some tactless remarks which might have hurt her. Of course that wasn't my intention. Nonetheless, my 'forgive me for saying this' comments were surely not what she needed to hear. She called because she needed a sounding board, a sympathetic ear.

Instead she got a visitation from Ms. Let Me Tell You How I Would Handle That. I don't know if I can apologize/explain myself in way that would clear the air, but I'll try.

Gah! I hate the taste of toes.

good luck. That kind of thing makes me kind nervous till it's taken care of. And I wear a size 7 shoe!

..and you SO need a mint.

Awww...crap! I hate that stuff! I hate it even more because I strive to bepraticallyperfectineveryway and ALWAYS fail!
Good luck, I'm sure your friend will see past your foot.

I feel you there. I did that to a good friend of mine and later asked my husband if he'd slap me upside the head. Why oh why couldn't I have just been sympathetic friend instead of know-it-all friend? My theory? It was my desire to fix things and make it right so my friend didn't have to go through all that turmoil. I'd guess your motivations were probably the same. Good luck with your apologies!

Don't feel bad - its something we all do from time to time. Some of us (like me) more than others.

Oh, but you have such cute little feet! I can. not. imagine you doling out anything but fabulous advice.

I love, love, love your new look!! Very, very you.

When I too quickly offer a "here's what you should do" answer it's because I want to help and I'm anxious because of how they are feeling. I agree with Angie- I'm sure your intentions were good. She'll understand. The new look IS nice!
