We're At DEFCON 2 And Falling
Hey! Who snuck in here and told my kids to play nice and suck up to me?
My son came tearing into the kitchen and skidded to a stop next to me. I was elbow deep in washing a skillet. He yanked on the hem of my shirt and yelled "Mommy!"
"What?" I barked at him. I so have to work on that.
"I love you. You're bee-yoo-tee-full today." He wrapped his arms around my hips and beamed up at me. Whaaa?
"Uh, thanks!" I pat him on the head with my elbow since my hands were covered with dish soap.
"No problem!" He raced off.
Minutes later, my two year old started kissing my knees. Granted she was pretending to be a kitty. "Wuv you! Meeeee-ow!"
All three of my kids are currently making sculptures with aluminum foil because I bought a jumbo thing of it at Costco and it doesn't get jammed into every nook and cranny of my house like playdough. Just now, I was presented with a crown by my oldest, who announced that "I'm the best mommy, ever."
Well, yeah.
Is this a sign of an impending earthquake or something?

The tin foil thing--absolutely brilliant. We haven't reached the crafts stage yet. I'm just trying to convince him not to color on the sofa.

Yes, the foil thing is the greatest idea I've heard in a while. Must try it. Any issues with electrical outlets? I'll take my chances. I'm a sucker for a crown!

What sweeties! I love the kitty... Spontaneous hugs and love are great and they do make you wonder, but I learned to let it go and enjoy it. You know, borrowing worry and troubles and all that.
I checked out your mom's site. What a neat job!

Accept it for the gift that it is. Too soon they're in the teen years and shirking you at all costs. I see I'm not the only mommy who has a kitty for a daughter.

It doesn't take much to make our children happy, thank God! Take a photograph in your mind of special moments with your children. I love it when mine shower me with unexpected love, it's priceless. You sound like a great mom! I love the look of your blog!
