Wet and Wild

It's been in the 90s the last couple of days, and with my single-pane windows and no air conditioning, I've been, how shall I put this...

Meh.

The kids? Also meh.

So yesterday, I decided to splurge on a Big Ass Wading Pool. You should have seen me out in my yard pumping this sucker up with a hand pump. Believe me, there was some sweatin' and some cussin' and my daughter standing poolside, asking "Is it full yet? Is it full yet?"

I turned the hose on her. And it felt good.

So anyway, I spent the bulk of my day yesterday "lounging" by the pool.

lounge ( P ) Pronunciation Key (lounj)
v. lounged, loungĀ·ing, loungĀ·es
v. intr.
1) To move or act in a lazy, relaxed way; loll: lounging on the sofa; lounged around in pajamas.
2) To pass time idly: lounged in Venice till June.
3) To sit in a plastic chair by a wading pool, assuring that all occupants of said pool get equal time with the assorted floaties: lounging by the pool prevented the children from drowning and/or killing each other with kickboards.

Really, it is divine. We're about to go loll about in the water again. Well, they are. I'm going back on my promise to not tan and you'll soon find me with my pasty legs sending a bright light skyward.

Oooh pasty legs?
Sexaaaay!

omg, that sounds heavenly.
we don't have a/c either and with temps repeatedly in the 90s, i'm about to say "f" it and go buy a pool despite the fact that we can't afford it.
enjoy yourselves! :)

Ooh, lounging. That sounds good. I'll bring the iced tea.

No A/C?! I can't believe it, knowing where you live.
ANY kind of cool water is good when it's over 90.

Mark found a huge, shallow pool at Costco and we've been talking about it...

It's too freaking hot. Should stop thinking and do.

Meh

Sounds lovely and restful. It's to darn hot here, too. And we don't have central air, only window units, which make you freeze so much (if you happen to be near one) that you have to run around in a sweater all day, only to shed it when you enter a part of the house that's too far away from the blast. So all day it's off, on, off, on with the stupid sweater!

Lord! I hear you about the disgusting heat. I live in Ontario, Canada and it's been anywhere from 35-45C with the humidity. I have two little girls who were sweating it out so I also decided to splurge on a pool. Got me one of those 12ftx30in bad boys so I could do a little wading myself. Quite enjoyable :D

It's been over 100's here in THE DESERT also known as the "Inland Empire" of southern california.

I am miserable and I have air! But it doesn't work for SHIT in this heat.

I want a wading pool!

So you lounged by but not in the pool? For shame! The kids thought I bought the pool for them but really it was for me!!LOL

Um, I pick option 2. Lounging in Venice sounds much more fun than watching the kids.

Nothing better in 90 degrees than lounging by the water. It is a cool 70 here, but going into the 80s by Sunday. I may need to do some lounging myself!
