Appropriate, But Then Again

Ah, the traditional kindergarten Teddy Bear Parade. The kids all make masks, and with their trusty stuffed friend from home, they march around the school growling.

And then they have a snack.

Part of the fun is making a name badge for your 'bear.' Now, as you can see, my son chose to bring a stuffed dinosaur. A stuffed Triceratops, to be specific.

After the parade, we stopped to play at the park, and my friend pulled her daughter's bear out of her backpack. "Aw, how cute! She named her Snow!"

Curious, I opened my son's backpack and flipped over the tag.

It's a good thing I'm so mature, and also grown-up, because otherwise, I would have been snickering and showing all the other parents at the playground.

But I totally didn't do that. No, I sure didn't.

LOL I so would have been showing everyone. Im not mature.

oh Jenny, that is TOO funny! And of course if you crack up they say "what? what's so funny?" and you have to pretend it was something else. I'm guessing the teacher wrote the name tag and had to choke back a laugh as well! Great story.

Heehee. That's your boy, alright. No doubt about it.

Hahahah..."Horny" is a brilliant name for a stuffed triceratops. I'd be very proud. Once again, your boy cracks me up.

Oh My. I bet the teacher had a good laugh!
When my oldest was 2, she brought a parrot puppet home from the library. She did not know the word for "beak", but she knew that birds peck at things. So she brought it to my husband, pointed to the felt beak, and said, "Daddy, this parrot has a stiff pecker."
Thank goodness she did not say that at Sunday school! LOL

You are so screwed when he's a teenager.

Hahaahaha! I can just imagine the teacher trying to stifle her laughter when he told her what to write. At least I hope she was laughing.

When Demigoddess the Elder was in kindergarten, she addressed all the valentine cards for all the kids in her class all by herself.

Including the one for her friend Clint, although she made one tiny mistake on that one and forgot to include the "n". Oopsie...

So what would you tell him that it means? ;)

BWA-HA-HA!!!

You know those food items that are a hot dog on a stick dipped in batter and fried? My daughter calls them "Horny Dogs". Yeah. Never take her to the fair.

Thats funny, a bear named horny what more can be said about that.

The first picture of little kids clutching teddy bears is so sweet and the second is just so hilarious. Thanks for sharing!

I freakin' LOVE your kid!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! He is SO totally YOURS!!!!!! That cracked me UP!!!!!

Love you!

Hilarious. Be sure to keep that picture. It may be worth a some blackmail funds in a few years.

Cool site. Found you through Bill in Iraq.

Oh my lord! How much do I love your kid?

How descriptive! And much more accurate than "Fluffy" or some other adjective.

Wanna hear spooky? Logan named his triceratops Horny a couple of years ago, and we spent a lot of time trying to convince him to pick a different name. We couldn't tell him why, but after hearing us laugh for so long, he was disgusted enough to re-christen him "Tri-tip."

I found your blog a few days ago and you just crack me up! I have 3 children too so I can totally relate.

Better keep an eye on that boy of yours!

What a cute tradition. I'm sure the kids love it.

I saw the top picture and was just about to feel all warm and fuzzy, and go "Awww, aren't they cute?" when I scrolled down and saw the bottom picture and spit out my coffee, laughing so hard.

you need to save this picture for either his prom or wedding - you know, look "suzy, this is what he called his bear" hehehehe.

Ah from the mouths of Babes.

That is so freaking funny.

I laughed so hard I woke up my sleeping, snotty, coughy, fussy child. BUt it was really funny. So thanks.

Ahahahah!

This is absolutely hilarious!

Throwing back my head so funny
