Pnumon-ee-ah-ay!
Quick! Everybody run out and buy stock in whatever company makes Zithromax! You can thank me later.
As of last posting, I had two kids with pneumonia, two kids with pink-eye, as well as my own case of pinkeye and congestion and a baby with a horrid cold.
Now, we've got three cases of pneumonia, me included, and four family members on antibiotics. Everyone is punchy and acting drunk, which would be more fun if we all WERE drunk. But in any case, I'm thinking we're going to have a quiet (hah! I crack myself up! Have you met my children?) Christmas this year.
My husband has been trying to convince me all week that he is actually more sick. We're having a sick-off. He even went to the doctor claiming strep throat, and the tests came back negative. The man is fine, and he can't believe it. How could he NOT be the sickest? It's causing him much envy.
Anyway, we're rolling towards the holidays at half speed. Not so much funny going on around here.
Luckily for you guys - day two of the Mommybloggers.com Holiday Q&A Smackdown is live. We'll be continuing on all weekend (although the entries might be posted later in the day than usual, since I'm dragging my butt.)
Go check it out, and have fun with the rest of your holiday prep!

Hope you all feel better soon. (That part about your husband cracked me up, btw.)

Yeah, Mark and I always have a sick off, but it's way more passive agressive. Weeee! We're sick over here too at the moment, but you win, hands down. We're just full of snots and throat aches.

Z-packs RULE. Two out of three of us are currently taking them. Once for strep, and me for sinus infection, which is a constant for me in the winter. Can't function without my Z-pak.

So, why do all the hubbies think that thier sickness is the most horrible case of "whatever" that any doctor has ever seen? I just gotta sit back and chuckle. Hope you all are able to heal up quickly...

Well, the upside of this is that this X-mas will be the benchmark. Every X-mas in the future where everyone is healthy will be declared awesome.
For about six years straight (during the 90's), I would have at least one grandparent on their deathbed or die around this time of year. Ever since all four passed, we always joke after Christmas about how this one was really good because no one died or was on their deathbed. How sad is that? (I still get a sick feeling when the phone rings around this time of year...)But in any case it does make you appreciate your health and focus on what really matters.
But I hope you all start feeling better very, very, VERY soon. My heart is with you all.

Oh no... Don't get me started on the hypochondriac nature of men! I hope you all feel better soon and a very Merry Christmas to you, too! Where did the year go?

Wow, I don't feel so bad about our Christmas situation now. We only have one croup, one cold with fever, and two stuffy noses among us. Feel better, and Merry Christmas!

Belatedly wishing you and your family all the peace, joy and love of Christmas.
And I hope the Zithro has kicked in, and you're all feeling a lot better! Our three were all sick in the week up to Christmas, and I got it last (of course) so have been dragging through the festivities. Sudafed helps some...
But I've lost my voice, which the kids always think is funny. Third time this fall. They're all "Why is mommy whispering again? Oh well, couldn't be anything urgent or important," and they ignore me even more than usual!
I thought the kids were all better on Christmas, judging by the non-stop excitement and manic antics, but K woke up in the night with a sore ear. Hmmm, maybe she and I are going to the doctor's office today. D'ya think Zithromax will be on the Boxing Day Sales, buy two get one free?
Best wishes,

I really hope you're all a lot better by now. Thanks for the Q&A on mommybloggers. I enjoyed it!
the pink eye thing cracked me up although it shouldn't have. If you've watched that South Park episode you'll know what I mean.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas.

Oh, I hope you feel better. Personally, at our house Tamiflu is the better bet for investing. We just came through the flu, two of us getting very sick, the other two of us not (thanks to the miracle of Tamiflu).
