Hot Mama

at: 3:53 pm PDT Currently: 101°

So says Yahoo. My thermostat says it's 89 degrees in my house.

We've got the wading pool filled up, and we've eaten a zillion popsicles. I'm supposed to be productive today. But it's hot, and we don't have air conditioning and even worse, I have a scab on my knee. How in the heck am I supposed to be getting anything done with a scab? I mean, I keep poking at it. That's what I'm doing today. Lifeguarding at the wading pool, and musing on my scab.

Time for another popsicle, I think.

Those scabs will do it to you every time. Heh.

I thought I was going to have no air conditioning for awhile today. A storm blew through and caused the power to blink on and off three or four times. Now, I can handle it most of the time, but Not. During. Naptime. Not when the heat could wake up all of those wiggling, noisy little bodies. Those are precious, precious minutes!

Wow. I feel for you. I mean it's 106 here today but at least we have AC. I know what 89 feels like though. It takes approximately 2 hours without air conditioning (which happens way to often) for it to rise to that. If the pool doesn't work, head for the closest McDonald's with a playland.

Tell me you kept the scab out of the pool. ;-)

Thank goodness for wading pools.

Cas
have another popsicle and leave the scab alone.

Who could be productive in heat like that? It sounds like the perfect day to me, an excuse to laze about in the sunshine!

ok im usually a lurker but I just saw that you said you don't have ac?!?! is it broken or you normally don't have it?? :) Just being nosey I guess...

Ashley

How do you not have air conditioning in California?!

I hope you stay cool. Somehow. Which does not involve ice cream.
