Ole!

Dude. It's 6:30 am, and I don't know exactly what the hell, but there is a bazillion piece mariachi band playing across the street. They arrived at 5:30, and started playing at 6:00.

They've got the horns. They've got the guitars, er, guitarras. They've got the singer(s) and um...

They're great! Really great.

But I have to say, in the history of weird neighborhood occurences, this ranks up there. I'm thinking that the husband across the street must have hired them to serenade his wife - or maybe there's some other reason.

Regardless - this is the first recorded incidence of Mariachis before Dawn.

(Hey, that sounds like a great Magic Treehouse title.)

Oh, that would be SO not cool. I mean, the band is cool and all, but the hour is not. Now, I have my fingers crossed that you'll get to the bottom of this and share, bc WTF?

Mariachis before Dawn. Wasn't that a Pink Floyd album?

Did you go out there and dance on the lawn? (because really ... what else CAN you do when a mariachi band is playing at 6 am??

Are you sure that wasn't just a dream?

That would make me insane. I so don't like mariachi music. Tom suggested that at our reception, since we're having it at a Mexican restaurant patio on the Riverwalk.. I told him that would be fine if he wanted to watch his new bride blow her head off and jump into the river at the reception. Hasn't been brought up again.

Wow, that totally sucks. I prefer to be sleeping at that hour.

I'm so happy you referenced the Magic Treehouse books. Now how do you think THAT particular story would go?

I like mariachi music; it's so festive! But at 6:00AM? Hope you find out what the occasion was...and let us know, of course.
