My Inner Homer Speaks

I just fried up a pound of bacon.

This day is off to a fantastic start. Bacon is just...so...

Why don't I make this stuff everyday? Holy moly.

Oh. There's the whole "diet" thing. Yeah.

But still. Mmmmmmm. Bacon.

If you want to TRULY channel your Homer, you need to say it this way:

Mmmmm... hogfat.

Also, I hear you. I buy bacon very rarely, because it's the one food I am incapable of resisting. I will eat it until I make myself sick.

I made bacon yesterday morning and it was so yummy. Then later in the day I kinda got an upset stomach and the bacon smell kept making my stomach turn. Finally I got over it and then at midnight my husband decided to heat up what bacon was left and make a BLT. Gah!

I can smell it cooking! Applewood smoked bacon from Costco- to die for!

Somewhere in the Fluid Pudding archives, there is a recipie for "Pig Candy," which is pretty much just bacon covered in brown sugar and baked for a while.

You're welcome!

I once tried to be a vegetarian, but bacon was my downfall. I know you don't count calories, but for people who do, Center Cut bacon is only 50 calories (1 POINT) a piece! I like to cook it until it is so crisp it shatters. *Drool*

Bacon is my only vice; love, love, love it.

That's funny, we had bacon yesterday too. But I did the lazy way, line a plate with a paper towel, spread the bacon on top of it and put another piece of paper towel to cover it, zap it for 3 or 4 minutes and voila!! Crispy, no mess kind of cooking. My lazy way! The kids loved it!
