Par-deh!
So, my parents picked up all three kids and left. Wait.
ALL THREE KEEEEEED-DUHS! Gone! For the night!
I might have a glass of wine. I might have a bottle of wine. I might not. I might just go to bed at 8:30.
(NOT.)
I've announced resolution #1 over at BigSlice - basically, going to conquer my food demons this year. Yeah, I know. Yawn.
But! Resolution #2 shall be something more...um...more. Let's see.
I resolve to read and review one book a week for the next year. That's 52 books. I'm open for suggestions, here - I've been blithely plowing my way through stacks of Target-purchased Chick-Lit, and I've got a mondo stack of other review copies to read, but I'm going to (pay off my fines and) start using the library on a weekly basis.
I also resolve to stop swearing like a sailor. Which effin hurts to even mofo think about that shiznit. My kids have been taunting me all day about that one. We'll see if I can switch to something a little less salty.
And, I think that's all I'm willing to resolve. I mean, I'd like to post daily here. And I've got big plans that have been long hidden for Mommybloggers.com. And there's BlogHer '07 this summer to look forward to... and of course there is my goal of daily laughter and lalller laller lallering.
Happy New Year, everyone!

Hmm....a non-swearing clause. I *should* resolve the same thing, myself. Good idea! As to the reading thing- good on ya! I'll throw you some suggestions beyond standard issue chick-lit: anything by Richard Russo, Augusten Burroughs, Jane Smiley, Bill Bryson, John Irving or Ruth Reichl would be a good bet. Have fun at the library!

I've been paying Drama Queen a quarter, every time I swear in front of her. She just bought a Mylie Cyrus biography with the proceeds. Shit.

As far as chick lit goes, check out the imprint Red Dress Ink. So far I have LOVED everything I have read published by them. Also, Barbara Samuel is some kind of featured author at Target or a book of the week or something--my favorite by her is The Goddesses of Kitchen Avenue, but her most recent is Madame Mirabeau's School of Love, everything by her is good.
If you read one of hers, stop by my blog and let me know how you liked it!

My latest favorite book "Be Happy or I'll Scream" has your name written all over it.
It is laugh-out-loud funny, and she is (almost) as good a writer as La Jenny. Seriously, the whole time I was reading it I thought of how much it reminded me of 3 Kid Cirque de SoLaugh (my girlfriend's name for your blog).
Read it! (It'll be an easy one--)
Also, I highly recommend "Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life" by Amy Rosenthal.
