Shoot.
So, today I had the distinct pleasure of having my photo taken by a professional. Not just me, woo-boy. Me AND all three kids. Which is like, four times the fun.
I gave some quotes for an upcoming article on television viewing habits, and the reporter asked if I would mind being photographed with my children. I didn't mind.
There was only one problem - where to take the photos? My house? With 24 hours notice? No. No, no no no no no. Besides, I needed all 24 hours to freak out about clothing choices. My dad valiently agreed to allow us to use my parents' lovely living room, and after a few moments freaking, I realized I only have like four outfits, and none of them scream SUPERSTAR! so pretty much anything would work.
Once I stopped freaking out, everything sort of clicked. The kids and I met the photographer at my parents' house, the photoshoot involved me sitting in an armchair with all my children piled on my lap while I "read" them a story. I actually recommend this approach highly, because, dude - who could even see my outfit? Who could even see my head? This is an awesome way to be photographed, and I plan on always having a pile of children to stack on top of myself in future shots. They are totally slimming.
After the shoot, we all went on our merry ways, and I am left to wonder if I will live up to my startling resemblance to Angelina Jolie, or if the camera managed to catch my many chins and the lovely rash on my chest that developed from trying some new self-tanning lotion. I'm just so glamourous. You just can't stand it, can you?
Thank you, Robert! We all had a blast. I don't think that chair will ever be the same again.
I'll post a link to the story when it comes online.

Children? Slimming? Funny, but I was about 60 pounds lighter BEFORE the little bastards came along. ;)
Love the new look of your blog!

You are a totally cool media megastar. I can't wait to see the pic and the story.
Strangely, I know what this whole being-on-the-receiving-end-of-media thing is like. That feeling of disconcertedness never fully goes away. Even after doing too many television interviews to count, I still find myself getting really self conscious every time I have to get on the unhappy end of the lens.

I'm looking forward to the link - and especially to the picture.
