Summer Scorecard
So far, I have to say I'm pleased with the way summer is progressing around here. I mean, aside from the hot weather, which makes my ankles swell. Thank you genetics and 50 extra pounds on my frame! Wooo!
Trip to Yosemite: 1
Trips to the swimming lagoon: 1 Goose Poop-filled Grandparental Outing!
Trips to the swimming pool: 2
Trip to the beach: 1 awesomely timed Grandparental Outing!
Movie theater trips: 2
Popsicles: 20,000. This is a rough estimate.
Folk songs learned: 6 - whoopie ti-yi-yo, suckahs!
Kids books read: 20 picture books. 3 chapter books.
Daily journal keeping: 50/50. Working on this.
Hours of television: (I'm not admitting how far off my desired goal of zero we are. I suck.)
On the agenda today, besides grocery shopping and laundry and mopping the floors in the entire house (after removing the layer of toys and miscellaneous crap, that is) is either another trip to the pool, or something else to stay cool. We're supposed to be conserving water, so running through the sprinklers is out...gasoline is 3 something a gallon, so driving somewhere is less appealing. The pool it is.
My ankles are swelling with excitement.
