Yesterday was an off day for me. Nothing seemed to happen in the right order. After the early morning stint at the ER, I couldn't quite get myself straight, and as a result lunch was late, dinner was late, I forgot to exercise (no seriously!) and in time honored tradition, I turned to caffeine to sort myself out.

Bad plan. So bad, that at one in the morning when I finally clicked off my light to stare up at the dark ceiling, I had to laugh. A sort-of crazy, hysterical laugh, one that only the truly sleep deprived can appreciate.

Mercifully, today has been better. I woke up to a damp yard - proof that rain had fallen over night. This is not something I enjoy in the summertime, and it is only now, at 3:30 in the afternoon, that we are seeing the sun. All this has had the odd effect of making me feel as though I've been squeezed through a giant tube, and have sort of puddled out of the constricted space back into the regular world, and I'm sort of wobbly.

Or, uh, puddly.

My four-year-old just wandered into the kitchen with a giant mouthful of bubblegum, which she proudly spit into my hand. Gross.

I wonder if I'm just shaking off the caffeine, or if I'm still in a fog from the disrupted sleep? I guess it doesn't matter. I'm getting ready to go sweat it out in my living room and then I'm bound and determined to finish reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to my oldest so that we can see the movie this week.

Hey! If you've seen it and reviewed it on your blog, leave me a link in the comments. I'm going to post a roundup of reviews over at BlogHer tomorrow.

Today is the premiere showing of Harry Potter in cinemas here in our place. I admit I’m more of movies than books. I can still remember how I cursed the movie Congo because it missed out some scenes that I’ve read from the book. I don’t want this thing to happen again.

Although I haven’t finished reading the book, here’s my overview from the chapters I’ve finished so far. This book, Book 5 of the ever-thrilling and truly magical series, is a coming-of-age story. Here, Harry is considered to be an adolescent facing several confusions in life just like all kids who are in the adolescent stage. In a way it will make you say, “hey I’ve experienced this, too.” And perhaps you can exclaim afterwards, “good decision!”
