Building A Moat Might Be Overkill, But...

Back to school! Back to school! Woo Hoo Hoo Hoo HOOOOOO!

Remember when this used to be a sad occasion? Oh, my babies are growing up? Boo hoo? So sad? No?

Oh yeah, that's right. That went out the second day of my oldest's Kindergarten year. In fact, last year, wasn't I doing Riverdance in the school parking lot?

After the bickering and sibling torture of the last two weeks, let's just say that instead of Riverdance this year, I'm going to race home and start digging a moat so they can't get in without swearing allegiance to the Queen (Hello! That's me!) and promising to uphold the Laws of The Queendom.

Whoops, a little Riverdance just slipped out. I looked like Snoopy from Peanuts doing the happy dance.

Look at them. Just...wow. They keep getting bigger. I'm reaching deep into my soul here, and...

Nope, still happy it is the first day of school! Now, about that moat...

Okay, this was just what I needed to hear because MAYBE just this morning I counted and re-counted the number of days until Savannah's first day of kindergarten while fielding the question that makes my eye twitch, "WHAT ARE WE DOING FOR KIDS TODAY?".

Bee-u-tiful family, btw. ;)

To heck with the moat. Drag out all the food you want to eat, but the kids won't because asparagus is yucky and blue cheese smells like nasty and butternut squash soup looks like something gross and party ...

Cheers!

They just get bigger every darn day. Tell them to cut it out!

I almost peed at the thought of you doing the snoopy happy dance! Never met you but had a very clear vision of you doing that dance. I don't dread the first day of school either - one less meal a day I have to plan.

OMG. My kids are in that miserable bickering summer stage too. And school doesn't start for them UNTIL SEPTEMBER!!!!!! JENNY! SEPTEMBER!

Somebody send some booze. Stat.

You have such beautiful kids! They're going to be heartbreakers!

Enjoy your quiet!

My oldest started Kindergarten last month. Before she started I was excited because I thought that the fighting between kids would stop. Nah. Not so much. They just cram all the fighting into the time before and after school. Cheers!

Your kids are beautiful, by the way. Although I'm sure you already knew that.

They look like they were pretty excited, too!

I love you post! I was cracking up because about 10 minutes ago, I posted one of the "boo hoo my baby is growing up" posts about my daughter's first day of pre-school that is looming before me.

It will probably be next year - or maybe even Christmas break this year - when I'm writing the "woohoo!!" post :)

Beautiful kids!

And THIS is why I love you.

HAHA. HAAAAAAAAA.

On *my* blog, I played the Hallelujah Chorus on the first day back to school.

I'm just saying.

Tell them to quit the growing up.

Those are some gorgeous kids there btw.

What a beautiful picture! I love first day pix, as long as I'm not in them. Alas, I teach, so I'm always posed in a few "first day" shots. Yours are soooo cute!

Bee-yoo-te-ful children!!

So cute! My daughter just went to her aunt's house for the first time to be baby sat and she started crying and I almost started crying. I wanted to run out and snatch her back and keep her at home with me all day. I can't wait until I can actually enjoy the days away from her.

Those are lovely kids and a moat is just what you, I mean they need. ;)

I homeschool, so if I dug a moat, I would trap my kids in with me. Damn.

Your kids are adorable all dressed up for their first day!

School doesn't come until the 27th. That is 9 days, 4 hours and 7 minutes.

I'll help you dig your moat if you'll help me install my mommy alarm system, complete with buckets of goo and slippery marbles.

You have beautiful children.

Cheers, to a new school year.

They're absolutely darling! I'm glad you're Riverdancing. I have one child and he's starting his last year of preschool before k'garten. So I'm all 'bout da boo-hoo.

Funny- I can already- relate to this and my son is only 14 months old. We are visiting my in-laws and parents at the moment (in a different country than we live in) and when my mom or mother-in-law take him out - I exhale deeply. I worry that this make me a badmom ( like baddog! doing something wrong) but then I'm happy to see him when he return- so not so bad right?

Your kids are gorgeous!

Zoe is only 2 years old... and I am longingly waiting for the first day of school. The program she's going to doesn't have the first day until September 10th!

I have twleve more days until mine go back...

Remember when you were a kid and it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r for Christmas to come?

As an adult I relieve this feeling every August until THEY GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

I felt the same last year when I sent my oldest off to Kindergarten. This year, school cannot start soon enough - 1 more day!

Trouble? Them?

Nah. They're too beautiful to be such trouble.

Seriously, I am counting the days until Pickle heads out...
