I Call A Do-Over

There have been days in my life where I've leaped from my bed with a song in my heart, hair bouncing and eyes sparkling. Days when the coffee tastes better, the weather is milder, the hours long enough and the sense of accomplishment comes naturally.

Today was not one of those days. I woke up late. My hair was flat on one side and crazy on the other. The song in my heart went a little something like "uhhhhhhn." The coffee was cold. The weather was hot. Don't even get me started on the hours.

My son was whining and grousing about having to go to school.

"Mommy, I don't want to go. I'm not feeling well."
"Tough shizzle, young man. You are going."

Whine whine laller laller laller.

I finally got them thrown in the van and dumped out at their classrooms, and came home, ready to get some stuff done. I was tapping away at the emails in my inbox when the internet died. THE INTERNET DIED. NOOOOOOOOOO!

So, yeah. Our phone service, which has been intermittent and scratchy? They decided to fix it this morning by turning everything off. And then knocking on my door and telling me that they are fixing it, like, Monday-ish?

Hell to the no.

Fuming, I dialed up our cable provider and signed up for their internet and prepared to run out the door to pick up the cable modem when my cell phone rang again, with a message from the school office. My son had just puked.

GREAT!

My internet was broken. My kid was hurling. I had bad hair.

ENOUGH!

So, I picked up the kid, picked up the install kit at the cable office, picked up some 7up and Saltines at the store (while my greenish son rode in the basket of the cart clutching a plastic baggy for any puking) and returned home to find my internet restored, but my phone still out.

Whatever DSL company. You're history anyway.

Today flew by, and I'm still hours out from finishing everything - everything including my review of Wii Boogie which will be up in the morning. Go see!

Sorry to hair that…… ;)

Bad hair, cold coffee, puking AND no internet? Have a glass of wine and go back to bed!

I feel like that today too!
just blah blah blah blahddy blah blah
The worst is I think my 14 month old can tell- he keeps on looking at me and crying?!
Let me clarify- he doesn't look at anyone and cry- just lucky,ol' me.
Hang in there :)

I hate days like that.

I hope your son's bug was of the 24-hour variety.

I hate those days! So miserable and yet part of every moms repetoire. Hope the rest of the week and the weekend went better!

The good news is you got all the bad stuff over with in one day. The last time our Internets died - common in these parts, thanks to the faceless monopoly - I stole my neighbor's wi-fi. I've become frighteningly good at it.

Anything to survive...

I seem to have those kind of days a lot!!

What is it about phone companies? Mine felt the way to fix my 2nd phone line was to shut off both lines. And since I'm on dialup, well..you can imagine the outrage.
