Peak Performance
So, from what I hear, men reach their sexual peak at 18, and women reach it at 35.
Well, here I am. I'm still waiting for some sort of heavenly hosanna to descend from the clouds, or maybe sparklers to shoot out of my ears or something. Can I get a woooo? Woo? No?
I don't know exactly what to expect, or who decided that whole peak business, but you know what sounds like a whole lot of fun right now? A nap. A nap ALONE.
Maybe I crossed over the peak and am on a rapid descent into my dotage. That's great. Just great.
Outta my way, sonny, or I'll hit you with my cane. Where are my teeth? Why, in my day...

I’m still wondering if all that crap I hear about “40 being the new 20” is anything to bank on. I can say that as I am watching my 20’s slip away from me, I can’t help but hold out hope that my 40’s will be somehow better. I will admit that seeing my 20’s pass away behind me is not entirely disheartening. I’m believing for a better life to come, and maybe a better body too. That’s the new thing now, ya’ know…. To be 40 and have a better body than a 26 year old. I’m assuming that sexy body comes with a sexy attitude. One can only hope.

I think the peak at 35 is under optimum circumstances. Like, no kids, enough sleep, No stress or responsibilities, the body of an 18 year old, and interludes with a hot guy who really really knows what he's doing.
You may have 1 or 2 of those - but I think you need all of them. Plus a few planets may need to align before that 'right at 35' thing happens.

I think it's all made up. I was MUCH more fun in my 30s. EARLY 30s than at 44.
Poor Mr. Hot. He bought that myth too.

Jenny, I know I can't speak for every 40 year old woman, but I'm hear to tell you-the sexual peak thing? Totally kicked in this year for me. Let's just say that the amount of time it takes me to, um, reach the peak? A LOT shorter than it used to be. And my toes are curling a lot more these days than they used to. So there's hope!

I am also curious about other people's statements regarding the peak or reaching the age 40. They make it sound interesting which makes me more curious.

I think these turning points are based on our attitude. A reminder that we should keep on thinking positive. In the end, it's still our decision if we want to follow a different path.

I guess I'll be the first to say that I'm 38 and yes I'm at my peak! My hubbie said that he can't keep up with me and he might get me a "toy"! ;-)
