Once - The Walking, Not The Movie
Monday morning, I laced up my sneakers and walked my kids to school. I even walked the dog!
And then Tuesday, the kids were home sick. And Wednesday, I sent 'em all back to school, but didn't make them walk because they are all still coughing and feeling yucky.
And today? I'm thinking I should make a goal to walk the dog instead of the kids.
Nonetheless - the distance to the school and back is two miles - so I can always do one of my Walk at Home DVDs to meet my goal of three walks this week.
Sickness - it is NOT my fault, and makes a poor excuse.
There has been a curious side effect of the sickness on my oldest. She's been clinging to me like a barnacle, snarling if one of the other kids needs something from me, and in general, annoyed if I do anything other than sit with her.
I'm not sure what is causing this, and don't get me wrong, I love to snuggle my kids, but sometimes? During business hours? Mommy needs to use the computer and stuff?
I love talking about myself in third person. It shows how firm my grasp on sanity truly is.
So, American Idol is back on. I didn't really watch it the last two nights - I hate these early rounds because they are so terribly manipulated and contrived. Somehow, watching people (albeit delusional people) go into auditions filled with hope, and come out crushed and bleep bleep bleeping away while storming away crying is really not my idea of good television.
Bring on the actual singing competition!
My kids are building a pillow fort on the edge of my bed and singing Mickey.
You're so fine, you blow my mind.
Hah! Now to determine if they are well enough for school. (Please no fevers, please no fevers, please no fevers...)
Comments
Why is it that every time I start an exercise program like say--walking outdoors or something--I get sick or the kids get sick? Just like that, I'm completely derailed.
We've been watching American Idol. Some of them are extremely painful. Good thing we TiVo so we can skip through the worst of it.

Totally with you on American Idol. Not so much into the crazies whose voices in their heads are telling them they're the next American Idol...
