Happy On The Inside
We're in the middle of day two of a projected week-long heat wave. I don't particularly enjoy heat waves. It makes my ankles swell and my hair dull and limp. Even my bra straps get all droopy which is NOT a good look. Yesterday's temperatures soared to 100 degrees, and when I finally fell sweating into my bed last night, all the doors and windows open and fans going warp 10, the house still registered a lovely 93 degrees.
Good times.
Today, the temperature wasn't quite as bad, but my hair? Have mercy. It's limp, and greasy, and disgusting. I don't think I've written here that my stylist-miracle-worker went into the salon that I've been using for 5 years and found that they'd closed their doors, and were refusing to give up the stylist's client lists from the computer. Not only did they neglect to let their employees know that they were closing up shop and stealing their client lists, they didn't even bother to let clients know that our appointments were canceled.
I'm four weeks over due for a cut and color and I'm frankly a little irritated by that.
Luckily, my stylist called me and found another location quickly, so tomorrow I'm going to have shiny new head.
I've been waiting on shiny new head so that I can go and get my passport photos taken, so I can finally get my passport for my September trip to Mexico. Is that vain or what? But man, I don't want to have mah ugh-lay memorialized for the next ten years or whatever.
So, new hair, passport. And lots and lots of reading because OMG you guys are so funny! The contest entries are killing me!
Reminder - last call for entries!!! I'm accepting comments/linked entries through midnight tonight, Friday May 16th. If you've got something to add after that time, by all means - but I'm going to have to be firm on my midnight deadline for the Wii and Wii Fit giveaway.

Hot weather is terrible. You can't get away from it. At least when it's cold you can put on endless layers of clothes and warm up. It doesn't matter if you feel like an oversized onion. You're warm!
Sucks about the salon though.
Sorry I don't have a story to submit for you. I stay away from work out machines. I haven't even been to the gym in years! Yeah, I know, I suck.

You are not alone! I did same, had to have a trim and "hit the bottle" as my father-in-law calls it before I had my passport pics done the first of the year. :-D Sucks about the salon though. At least the stylist found you!
Though I'm jealous of your heat wave..barely 60 here and I'm freezing! Trade??

I just want to know who was the genius who decided that houses in the Bay Area don't need air conditioning because the weather here is so MILD.

Ugh. With you on the hair thing. My last haircut was a bust and for some reason my roots have decided to grow faster than usual this time. And of course my high school reunion is just days away. Trip to Mexico sounds awesome.

That is so crummy that the salon pulled such a ridiculous stunt like that.
How frustrating.
100 degrees sounds miserable. I whine when it hits 80 with full humidity. Hopefully it cools to a more tolerable temperature soon!
