Blown Away
Oh, BlogHer - how you complete me. How you completely, completely blow me away.
From the moment I left my house on Wednesday morning at 5 am, to the moment when I walked back through my own door Sunday night, I don't think I stopped smiling. Or talking, judging from how hoarse I am. Maybe that was all the cackling. I certainly didn't get enough sleep. But Sleep is for the Weak.
I've got a stack of business cards about 2 inches thick, a brain full of lovely faces and names, and a mountain of swag. I've got a few pictures, and a bunch of mental snapshots. I've also got a fat lip, from my dog leaping up and crashing into my face.
Since walking through my own door and getting dogpiled by my kids, I've been dealing with fevers and kids puking. I've got so much to write about, but I need to give the kids the attention they need first.
And then I'll explain all this.

I came home to a puking kid too! But it was totally worth it now that neither one of us is vomiting or overwhelmed.

Holy hell I came home to sick kids too! Well one, and now the other seems to be catching whatever it is.

Don't you just love a few days away with people that love the same things you do? Where you can be a person again and not just a mom? I mean, we all love being a mom but I think that there have been several times in my life that I have forgotten that I am a person separate from being a mom. It is perfectly, sinfully, wonderful to remember my person side. I am so glad that you were able to go and have a blast!!!

I was over-the-moon to have met you... first in the Sesame Street room, then you in your lovely green dress all-signing-books-n-such.
Whut? you don't remember me? That's OK I'll keep stalking you, in a non-threatening kind-of way :)
Anywho. It was so fun to have met you in real life. You've neen cracking me up for years... years, I tellya!
BTW - I came home hoarse too - for 3 days. I also felt drunk for 3 days. :)
