Stick That Landing
Oh man. Here they come - the Summer Olympic games. I can't wait.
I am not much of a sports fan, and have no particular aspirations to be at the actual games. Why would I need to go, when my favorite part is critiquing the athlete's performances based on what the television commentators say.
Seriously, nothing is more amusing to me than to sit in harsh judgment of world class athletes. Yes, over the course of the games, you'll find me on my couch, sloshing around an iced tea and yelling things like - you gotta stick that landing!
Yeah, I loves me some O-lympic commenting. Diving is fun (Did you see that splash? She totally under-rotated that final twist!) Weight-lifting, also awesome. I like the grunting parts. Gymnastics brings out a really horrible side of my personality. And the swimming - you'd think I was some sort of expert on kick-turns. (Hint- I am not.)
Of course, I cheer for the athletes too, but I never fail to be shocked by the things that fly out of my mouth while I'm watching. Where do I get off? The fanciest moves I've ever mastered involve line dancing and/or carrying multiple children. I'll admit, I'm pretty freaking great at the whole juggling mulitple children but still - until they make that an official sport, you'll find me on my couch, swilling iced tea.
I can't wait.

At least you're watching the athletes. I'll be tuning in for the Smog reports and ensuing criticism. :-)

I love making biting comments about countries during the opening ceremony. Also, I usually participate in the gymnastics events in my living room, where I jump off the couch, attain a perfect score and then Kerri-Strug-hobble myself off the mat and into my adoring fans.

We don't have TV, but debating getting cable just to watch . . .
