Tears of Joy
I'm watching the inaugural coverage on television right now - Barack Obama will be sworn in in just under an hour and with all the waving flags and patriotic music and massive crowds...I'm sitting here weeping and sniffing - I always laugh about my penchant for crying on the Fourth of July, or really any time I hear a crescendo.
But today, I understand the normally inexplicable tears - this is a wonderful day for our country.

I'm sniffing away with you. And I keep getting chills. What an incredible day. I hope that I can be a part of a generation that really does make a difference.

I was hurridly eating my lunch before work, listening to Aretha Franklin sing and crying through a mouthful of Triscuits. Dismaying that there are still those who would detract from the happiness of this day with their gloom and hatery, but they're out there for sure. One came to visit me on my blog on the day I posted my happy thoughts about the new President. No matter. We know he's awesome. So does the rest of the world. Power in numbers, kiddo. Power in numbers.
