Nine and Ten

NaBloPoMo #9 & #10 - it's a twofer

Look, I know. I KNOW. Here we are only 10 days into the month and I've already messed up my NaBloPoMo record. I'm still going to keep at it, and we're all just going to overlook that blip in my otherwise awesome progress.

So, Sunday morning, I gave my kids and husband a hearty buss and headed out the door. I picked up my mom's dear friend Sonny, and then headed to my mom's house. We grabbed my mom and sister and started on the road for San Francisco.

We had a gorgeous day, and the entire city twinkled as we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge. We headed to Yank Sing for some glorious dim sum. Here's the thing about Yank Sing - as soon as you sit down, you've got 900 different dishes to select. We were eating before our butts were in the chairs. We ate and made noises that would have been vaguely obscene, had we not had a ton of delectable morsels in front of us.

The birthday feast

My mom and Sonny really got into the act. The servers would drive their little carts by, and we'd all crane our necks and ponder what yummy treats to try next. I think we had one of everything.

The birthday girl

After eating until we couldn't possibly squeeze in another bite, we made our way back to the car for the quick drive up to the theater.

On the way to Wicked

We didn't get lost, didn't have any trouble finding parking, and ended up a short walk from the show.

It's been a while since I've seen a Broadway-style show, and Wicked didn't disappoint. I was totally enthralled by the set, the dance and the music, and oh my gah, the two leads were phenomenal.
